I. Tourist Resources in the MD (3 credits)
- Introduction to tourist resources such as landscapes, historical relics, festivals, traditional history, eating and drinking habits, etc. in thr MD
- Contents:
o Introduction to the MD
o Natural tourist resources
o Human tourist resources
o Tourist attractions in the MD
Field trips: Three-day field trips to diverse tourist sites in the Mekong Delta to get to know the local people’s livelihood and socio-economic conditions.
II. Southern Vietnamese Cuisine (3 credits)
- Provides learners with the knowledge of the cultural aspect of Vietnamese cuisine, including cuisine outlook and eating and drinking styles
- Contents:
o Introduction to South Viet nam and its cuisine map
o Some special styles of Vietnamese Southern cuisine
o Similarities and differences between the Northern, Central, and Southern cuisine styles
o Practice
III. Mekong Delta Food Culture (1 credit)
- Provides learners with particular characteristic of MD food culture, its origin, developing process and nature, people’s eating habits, the MD specialties, some special recipes and steps to prepare them, and typical restaurants
- Contents:
o Speacial characteristics of MD food
o Speacial dishes during the High Tide Season in the MD
o Places for food for hand-on trips in the MD
o Ways of cooking some typical MD dishes
